Building B1, part of The Park Krakow complex, has been awarded the BREEAM Final Excellent-level certification. This signifies that it has been designed and constructed with consideration for the principles of sustainable development.

Investments in ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) pillars are essential aspects of sustainable development at The Park Krakow. The complex not only offers modern office spaces but above all, an exceptional outdoor area, isolated from car traffic, arranged with abundant greenery, water elements and natural materials – designed with both relaxation and outdoor work in mind. The implementation of biophilic design, an approach integrating nature into the human environment, contributes to increased productivity, creativity and improved well-being.

The final Excellent level BREEAM certificate was achieved through high ratings in individual categories:

  • transport – including excellent location with great access to public transport, availability of services, infrastructure for cyclists, and electric vehicle charging stations;
  • energy – for very good energy efficiency of the building, metering systems enabling effective building management, and BMS (Building Management System);
  • water – featuring low water consumption fixtures, rainwater harvesting for irrigation, and water leak detection system.

The facility was also recognized in the ecological category – the investment is located on previously developed brownfield industrial land (land remediation was carried out to restore the area). The Park Krakow is surrounded by diverse greenery, local plant species and a wildflower meadow. Additionally, the building facade incorporates glass with an appropriate external reflection coefficient to reduce reflectivity and thereby minimize bird collisions with transparent surfaces. Sustainable practices were employed at every stage of construction to minimize the impact on the natural environment.
